VOSA & Police Officials Hold Weekend Talks With NLCA

The National Limousine and Chauffeur Association recently met with VOSA and Police Officials recently to discuss the grey areas within the limousine industry and agreed to work together to sort them out.

Following a two day workshop in Bradford, Yorkshire, representatives from various government officials which govern the industry discussed the main areas which face operators, and to find a solution to make sure stretched limousines continue to be a safe form of transport.

The meeting was attended by VOSA official Kevin Rooney and Road Crime Intelligence Office from Dorset Police Annie Mitchener. Discussions were made with the NLCA on what problems operators are faced with on a day-to-day basis and how the VOSA, Police and the NLCA can move forward with these problems.

The NLCA was faced with a positive feedback from all involved, and the government organisations are meeting in the near future to discuss how a combined effort can be made to cater for those carrying more than eight and to make sure limousines are recognised throughout the country.

The meeting heard from Vice Chairman Peter Wright who spoke about the way the NLCA was put together and the aims it has. That was followed by a presentation by Legislation Officer Bill Bowling who advised the officials on the problems the industry faces and his thoughts on how they could be resolved.

Following this, the officials agreed that joining the NLCA was advisable, as operators and limousine owners will have greater access to the discussions and back-up of the NLCA and its experienced committee.
